COVID-19 Update

Dear Costa Orthodontic Patients, Families and Caregivers,

We are ready to get back to work and have missed seeing everyone’s smiles! We hope everyone is happy, healthy, safe and adjusting to the new normal that has become our lives.

We wanted to reach out to give you an update regarding our our practice plans going forward in this new era of the COVID-19 pandemic, as we prepare for our re-opening on Monday, May 18th.

We are following the guide lines set forth from the Governor of Pennsylvania, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Center for Disease Control, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Department of Health.

In order to ensure the safety and well being of you, our patients and our team, we will be following rigorous scheduling protocols and office measures, that will allow us to respect the social distancing efforts-minimizing the number of people in the office at one time, and giving ample time for disinfection and sterilization.

In order to do this, that means that our waiting room and game room will need to be closed to minimize close physical proximity.

Our plan is to have a virtual waiting room, where patients will text upon arrival to the office. Patients will be notified when their treatment room is ready, and greeted by our Patient Wellness Coordinator at the entrance of the office. Patients will be required to wear their own protective masks to their visit.

Temperature screenings of all patients will be taken. All patients with an elevated temperature of 100.4 or higher will be asked to reschedule their appointment. In order to maintain social distancing guidelines we are requesting all family members wait in their cars, to once again keep the number of people in the treatment room to a minimum. The exception to this will be for New Patient Exams. We will request that a Covid 19-questionnaire be filled out by all caregivers prior to patients appointments for the health and safety of our patients and team.

Our brushing station will be closed. Please brush your teeth at home before you arrive. Excellent oral hygiene is More important than ever for the health and safety of our patients and our team.

Dr. Costa and his team believe communication with patients, families and caregivers is a key element during treatment. In a response to the social distancing guidelines we have installed iPads at each clinical chair, where you will have the chance to watch alongside or be notified at the end of each visit with a progress update by a member from our team. After appointments are completed we are requesting to call for your next appointment if it was not already made during the virtual visit.

Furthermore, In order to maintain social distancing efforts, we ask that you call the office 24 hours in advance for Invisalign trays, elastics or wax pick ups. Pop-ins will not be allowed in order to keep everyone’s health and safety as the number one priority.

We look forward to seeing and treating everyone’s smiles soon!

Dr. Costa and Team
